t’s crunch time in Southern Arizona High School football, as the playoffs are just two weeks away. Salpointe Catholic is the only undefeated team left in the area and lead the pack, but classes 5A, 4A and 3A are filled with Southern Arizona schools that can make some noise in the postseason, along with the smaller schools.
The football pops loose as Blue Ridge running back Dominic Hoffmeyer gets sandwiched by Tucson Sabino defenders Diego Armijo (1) and Richie Piña after a big gain during the Sabercats’ 14-7 win in Lakeside on Friday, Sept. 14. Sabino’s Gabriel Aguilar (18) recovered the fumble to end a Blue Ridge scoring threat.
